One Video, 30 Posts: A Repurposing Workflow for 90 Minutes a Week

Record once, cut many. The weekly schedule, credit cost and output maths behind turning one long recording into 11-14 assets — and the three steps you should never automate.

The short answer: record one long video a week, extract four clips from it with AI, and turn each clip into a Short, a Reel, a TikTok, a LinkedIn post and a text thread. That is roughly 30 assets a month from four recordings, on about 90 minutes a week of actual work. The workflow below is the schedule, the credit cost, and the parts worth automating.

The principle: record once, cut many

Most creators run the opposite way round — they make a Short for Monday, a LinkedIn post for Tuesday, a newsletter for Thursday, each from scratch. That is four ideation cycles a week, which is where burnout comes from.

Repurposing inverts it. You have one ideation cycle: the recording. Everything after that is format conversion, which is mechanical and largely automatable. The idea is expensive; the packaging is cheap.

The weekly schedule

Monday — record (45 minutes)

One conversation, interview or solo episode, 30–45 minutes. Do not over-produce it. The clips do not care about your lighting nearly as much as you do.

One habit worth building while recording: when you land on a good point, say it cleanly a second time as a standalone sentence. You are deliberately manufacturing a clip-able moment, and it takes ten seconds.

Tuesday — extract (15 minutes)

  1. Upload the recording to AI Clip Cutter.
  2. Wait for transcription, scoring and selection — 1–2 minutes of processing per 10 minutes of source.
  3. Read the four selected clips with their stated reasons. Keep three, discard one, adjust a start point if the setup line got cut.
  4. Export each in 9:16 with captions. One credit per export, 1080p, no watermark.

Credit cost for a 40-minute episode with four exports: 44 credits. At the ₹899 / 450-credit tier that is about ₹88 — under a dollar and a half — for the week's raw material.

Tuesday — derive the text (20 minutes)

The transcript is the asset almost everyone wastes. From each clip you already have the exact words. Turn them into:

  • A LinkedIn post — the clip's argument in 150 words, with the clip attached natively.
  • A text thread — the same argument broken into four beats.
  • A newsletter section — one clip expanded with the context that had to be cut.

Wednesday to Sunday — publish (10 minutes a day)

One clip per platform per day. Do not dump all four on the same morning — each clip deserves its own slot, and spacing them turns four assets into a week of presence.

The output maths

Per long video:

  • 1 long-form upload (YouTube, podcast feed)
  • 3–4 vertical clips for Shorts, Reels and TikTok
  • 3–4 square or vertical cuts for LinkedIn and Facebook
  • 3–4 text posts derived from the clip transcripts
  • 1 newsletter section

That is 11–14 assets from one recording, and about 30–45 a month from a weekly cadence. Reformatting a clip for a second platform costs one more export, so the marginal cost of another platform is a single credit.

What to automate and what never to

Automate: transcription, moment selection, reframing, captioning, export in multiple formats. These are deterministic and you add nothing by doing them by hand.

Never automate: the final call on which clip represents you, the hook line, and the written post. Those three are where your judgement is the entire product — and they are also the three that take the least time. Fifteen hook formulas worth stealing are in our guide to short-form hooks.

Making it survive contact with a real week

  • Batch the recording, not the publishing. Record two episodes in one sitting if that is easier; publishing still spreads across the weeks.
  • Keep a buffer of four clips. One bad week then costs you nothing.
  • Do not chase every platform. Two done consistently beats five done sporadically.
  • Re-post the winners. A clip that did well three months ago will do well again, on a different platform, to a different audience.

Frequently asked questions

How much time does this actually take per week?

About 90 minutes: 45 recording, 15 extracting, 20 writing, 10 spread across publishing. The recording was already happening; the other 45 minutes are the new cost.

Is repurposing penalised by the platforms?

Reformatting your own footage for a different platform with new framing and captions is what short-form is for. What gets penalised is uploading someone else's work, or posting the identical file to the same platform repeatedly.

What if my episodes are two hours long?

Fine — analysis scales with length at 1 credit per minute, and there is no length cap on a source file up to 1 GB. Expect the same three to five strong clips; a longer episode does not proportionally contain more good moments.

Can a team share one credit balance?

Yes. Workspaces share a single balance, so an agency running several shows tops up in one place. The Studio tier exists for that.

Run one week of it

Do not redesign your whole content operation. Take this week's recording, run it through AI Clip Cutter with your 10 free credits, and publish the clips over the following four days. If the week feels lighter than the last one, keep the system. For the underlying mechanics, see the complete guide to AI video clip cutters.
