Opus Clip vs Klap vs SubMagic vs AI Clip Cutter

Four AI tools that turn a long podcast, interview, or webinar into short vertical clips. Three of them bill in US dollars on a monthly subscription with a quota that resets. We bill in rupees, in one-off credit packs that do not expire. Below is where each of them genuinely wins — including where they beat us.

The entry price, side by side

Rupee figures are conversions at roughly ₹88 to the dollar, for scale only — none of the three charges in INR, so the actual amount on your statement also carries your bank's forex markup and any international transaction fee.

Shared ground

What all four have in common

Speech-to-text first

Every one of these tools works from a transcript. Nothing here understands video visually — the clip boundaries come from what was said and when. That means all four are strongest on talking-head content: podcasts, interviews, webinars, panels, lectures. None of them will find a good moment in a silent screen recording.

Burned-in captions, not sidecar files

Short-form captions are rendered into the pixels, because Reels, Shorts, and TikTok autoplay muted and platform-native captions cannot be styled. The differences between these tools are mostly about how many caption looks you get and how much control you have over timing and emphasis.
